Each student preparing for Confirmation at St. Monica is asked to complete 1 service experience.

Works of service are more than a task to complete—they are an opportunity to embody Christ’s love and strengthen our community. We value the quality of each service experience over the number of hours given. When we serve with intentionality, compassion, and a spirit of generosity, we not only meet real needs but also create meaningful encounters that reflect our faith in action. Every act of service—no matter the size—has the power to build relationships, deepen personal faith, and make a lasting impact on those we serve.

St. Monica will be planning 2 opportunities for those students interested in doing a service project.

The date for this service project will be Saturday, February 7th, 2026. 

Location and time for Service Opportunities

• St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry  located at 3001 E 30th St
• 7:30am-12:30pm
• Support our shoppers by keeping the line stocked, collecting carts, etc. Or preparing for a future shopping day by bagging produce or snacks.
• St. Vincent DePaul Distribution Center  located at 201 E Maryland St.
• 9:00am-12:00pm
• Help process our various household donations by sorting and hanging clothing, pairing shoes, pricing items for our thrift store.

Each location will be limited to 30 students.

Sign up for the above service opportunities will be a first come first serve basis.

If you do not register or are unable to attend one of the service opportunities mentioned above, you must complete the service experience on your own.
