A Message from our Pastor
Welcome to St. Monica Catholic Church website. We are so grateful for your visit. Established as a parish for the northwest corner of Indianapolis in 1957, St. Monica has been serving our community, both those who are Catholics and those who are not, through our spirit of hospitality, prayer, service and love. I stand on the shoulders of some amazing pastors and hope to continue their tradition of bringing the light and love of Christ to others in our corner of the world. Our amazing faith filled parishioners stand on the shoulders of countless previous parishioners, continuing to welcome people from all places and backgrounds. Together we strive to help all whom we encounter come to know God, our Catholic Faith, the truth that they are God’s beloved children. As good stewards of all that we have been given we live our lives in gratitude to God. United in Faith we are One Body and share One Mission. If we can be of any help please let us know. “This is the final part to our conversation with Ginny and Pat Maher, lifelong Catholics and parishioners at SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Indianapolis. From meeting each other at Cathedral Grade School to marrying and starting a family, to successful careers and through retirement, the Mahers attribute everything to the Church. We have all heard the parable of the widow’s mite. What made her gift so beautiful was her faith, as it was fully centered on God. She gave all she had that day to the cause she loved so dear, believing that her heavenly Father would not overlook her great need. In this second donor spotlight with Ginny and Pat Maher, Pat talks about how the coins shown above hung on the wall in his office for many years. As he passed by those each day, it reminded him to ask himself, “Am I giving all that I can give? Am I giving out of my wants, or am I giving out of my need?” As you watch, may it remind you of the widow’s act of perfect love and sacrifice.
