Daily Reflection for Thursday, July 15, 2021

Peace and Blessings, Friends and Parishioners,

We encourage you to reflect on Thursday's readings at this link:
https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/071521.cfm

If you prefer to use your own Bible, the readings are:
First Reading: Exodus 3:13-20
Responsorial: Psalm 105:1 and 5, 8-9, 24-25, 26-27
Gospel: Matthew 11:28-30

Our reflection on Thursday’s readings:
“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest”.(Matthew 11:28)

In today’s Gospel reading, Jesus invites all those who labor and are burdened to rest. As I spend some quiet time, reflecting on these words, I pray for those in great need of this message.

Come to me, all rescue workers, families, and victims, in search of life in the collapsed condominium, Champlain Towers South, in Surfside, Florida . . . and I will give you rest.

Come to me,
all of the people living in Haiti after the assassination of Jovenel Moïse, their president . . . and I will give you rest.

Come to me, all those suffering in the record high temperatures in western United States . . . and I will give you rest.

Come to me,
all families who are divided due to holding diverse beliefs and political ideologies
. . . and I will give you rest.

Come to me, all children who go without food, shelter, and safety . . . and I will give you rest.

Come to me, caregivers, caring for their aging parents . . . and I will give you rest.

Come to me, all of us in need of rest and relief from our suffering . . . and I will give you rest.

May you invite those who labor and are burdened to find rest today,

Margarita Solis-Deal
