Become Catholic

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults(RCIA)

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults(RCIA) is the formational and ritual process through which people are brought to baptism and full communion into the Church. It is the Holy Spirit that calls individuals to the journey of conversion to Christ. This journey leads individuals through a process of discovery to see where God has touched them and continues to touch them in thier daily lives. Rooted in the Word of God, the Rite of Christian Initation of Adults is a journey of evangelization, formation and apprenticeship in the Christian life.

Becoming Catholic is a process of conversion and one that takes place within the community of the faithful. The community benefits from the initiation process because it deepens the awareness and committment to the ongoing need for stewardship in the community. It is the example of the community through prayer and evangelization that those seeking initiation experience and witness a deeper understanding of what it means to live the Body of Christ.
