Adding a “News” item

  1. In the left navigation, click Posts
  2. Click Add New
  3. Title – Enter the title of the news posting (This will show up on the home page, and will also be hyperlinked).
  4. Permalink – this will be the link to this news posting. You can either accept the default or edit.
  5. Body – Enter or copy and paste the text of the news posting. Apply any formatting using the toolbar.
  6. In the right sidebar under the heading Categories, click the appropriate box:
    • News – for general annoucements,
    • Pastor’s Corner – for notes from Fr. Todd.
  7. In the right sidebar at the top, click the Publish button.

Uploading the Calendar of Events

  1. Start FileZilla (FTP program)
  2. Click the first button > choose Event Calendar > click Connect
  3. Drag the calendar from left to right (from the Desktop of the local computer (left) to the Web server (right). The file needs to be named: calendar.pdf

Editing a page

  • Once logged in, either:
    • In the left sidebar, click on Pages > Edit. Find the page that needs edits and click the Edit link. Then edit the text, and then click Publish.
    • Go to the Web page that you want to edit, and then click on the Edit link above the body of the page.

Adding a photo

  1. click the Image button.
  2. Click the button Select Files, find the photo on your computer, and click Open.
  3. Click Insert into Post

Uploading the bulletin

  1. Edit the bulletin page
  2. On the 2nd line, insert the cursor after the code: height="199" />
  3. Click on the 4th icon on the Upload/Insert toolbar
  4. Choose Select Files and find the PDF of the bulletin on your computer to upload
  5. Once chosen, change the Title to Month Day, Year (e.g. March 31, 2010) and then click Insert into post
  6. At the end of the bulletin just uploaded, hit Enter once to move the previous bulletin to the next line
  7. Visit the page to see if it looks correct
