Jim Welter
I founded the St. Monica e-mail reflection ministry while serving as Pastoral Associate and Business Manager for St. Monica Parish. I was born and raised in northern Indiana, and am proud to be a native Hoosier. I have been married for many years and am the father of two sons.
I have written two books, When Winter Comes – Scripture Reflections for Daily Living, and Come Next Spring – Scripture Reflections of Promise and Hope, which include some of my most popular internet reflections as well as material from the many talks and homilies I have presented over a lifetime of ministry. For more than 20 years I have presented my scripture program, The Ascending View, at parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
I’m an introvert, so writing personal reflections on scripture takes me out of my comfort zone. But, scripture has been part of my life since I was twelve and I appreciate this chance to share it. I hope by allowing myself to be vulnerable in these reflections that I can help others relate scripture to their daily lives.
