The ministry of Lector is to proclaim God’s living word at Masses and liturgical gatherings where scripture readings are included. Through the Lector, God continues to feed his people at the table of the Word. The lector ministry is in need of volunteers for the Sat. 5:30pm mass or the Sunday 7:40 a.m. mass. Training will be provided, after which lectors are put on a schedule proclaiming the Word, every 5 or 6 weeks depending on the mass time. In preparation for the National Black Catholic Congress, which will be held this coming July, there will be a Day of Reflection on Sat. Jan. 28, 9 am to 3 pm, at Holy Angels Church located at the corner of 28th St. and Martin Luther King, Jr. St. The focus of the Day of Reflection will be exploring the results of the National Black Catholic Survey which was taken last year. There is no cost for the day and lunch is included. The Day of Reflection is sponsored by the Multicultural Ministry Office of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
