Substance Addiction Ministry (SAM)
The Substance Addiction Ministry (or “SAM”) provides education about addictive disease. It increases awareness of the pain in people’s lives and of places where help can be found. It offers support, acceptance, understanding and healing. SAM teams are stewards of the parish’s most valuable “treasure” — its people. They share their time and talent, while offering hope, healing and reconciliation to parishioners touched by addiction. They provide a safe, confidential place for parishioners to call for help and referral, and increase awareness of addiction through education to various ministries, parish groups and in the community. If you or someone you know is experiencing problems associated with alcohol or drugs, call 317-690-4624 — All calls are confidential. To be a SAM volunteer, contact Bonnie Jackson-Harpring, 387-1184 or bonnieharpring@hotmail.com.
THANKS FOR VISITING OUR PAGE! We are passionate about this ministry and as you will see in the coming weeks, by the pages we have added, our SAM Team has a lot going on. Please feel free to contact us if you have any ideas for speakers, sober events, or want to become involved. Please tell friends and family about the SAM Ministry. If you know of another church that would be interested feel free to give them our information.
At this time I would like to thank each and every SAM Team Member for saying yes. You enrich our lives at every meeting. Also, thanks to the musicians who have given of their time and talent for the Taize Services. We hope to do more!
