Reserve May 12 on your calendar and come join other St. Monica families as we clean up, fix up, spruce up our grounds. We will be doing general cleaning and maintenance of the playground, soccer field painting, laying sod and spreading mulch. Any help is appreciated. The day begins at 8:00 am and ends with lunch provided by the Kermes group around noon. Bring your shovel, rake and work gloves. To volunteer, email the parishoffice@stmonicaindy.org.
Christ is our life. One great way to celebrate our faith in Christ during this Easter Season is to invite others to share in this life with us. A small “Evangelization Nook” has been built at the east end of the cloak room in the Narthex. Free Bibles will be located there for as long as supplies last (please, just one per family — for those families who do not already own a Bible). OR IF YOU KNOW A FAMILY WHO DOES NOT OWN A BIBLE AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE ONE, PLEASE GIVE THEM ONE OF THESE. WE HAVE BOTH ENGLISH AND SPANISH VERSIONS. Bibles, rosaries, educational CDs and other items will be located there permanently; you are asked to make donations (if you are able) as you take itmes from this Nook in the future. We hope the items will be useful to you in growing your own faith/the faith of your family — and for sharing faith with others! We encourage you to invite others to “come and see” what our life is like here at St. Monica!!!
“Being and Belonging…A Retreat for Separated and Divorced Catholics” will take place Friday, May 4th to Sunday, May 6th, 2012 at Fatima Retreat House, 5353 E. 56th Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. You are invited to relax as you journey with others, listening to their stories and exploring a common loss. The program will help deepen your understanding of the healing process, increase your sense of belonging, and help you affirm that God is with you in your struggles and hope.
