Have you experienced an end to your marriage and are dreading the upcoming Valentine’s Day celebration, normally reserved for happy couples? Originally planning to be on your own that day, but would prefer some company? Then join us for a pitch-in dinner, an evening of games and general fun with others in common with your status to instead celebrate “Singles Appreciation Day” on Tuesday, February 14 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the St. Augustine Room here at St. Monica. Please contact Colleen Teasley at cobt31763@aol.com to RSVP for attendance and what your pitch-in item/dish will be. We’ll have some games (e.g. Cranium, Taboo), but feel free to bring one of your own, too!
The ministry of Lector is to proclaim God’s living word at Masses and liturgical gatherings where scripture readings are included. Through the Lector, God continues to feed his people at the table of the Word. The lector ministry is in need of volunteers for the Sat. 5:30pm mass or the Sunday 7:40 a.m. mass. Training will be provided, after which lectors are put on a schedule proclaiming the Word, every 5 or 6 weeks depending on the mass time. Once trained, they can also volunteer for holiday and holy day masses. For information, contact Kelly Samodral at 698-7724 or ksamodral@comcast.net.
