St. Monica Small CHURCH Communities present… The Spiritual Life “Tools” for your walk with God Featuring Mary Schaffner Prayer Tools! Mary will share tools to help you discern God’s will for you daily, in very specific ways, and to help you see God’s work in your life more clearly. As a person committed to making prayer a central part of her own life, Mary will share the gift of prayer with you – with grace and a big smile. A great speaker, Mary is the DRE/Pastoral Associate at St. Anthony Church and Holy Trinity Parishes in Indianapolis and holds a Spirituality Certificate from Creighton University with a focus on Spiritual Direction and Silent Directed Retreats. She has also led young adult ministries for the Archdiocese and served as campus minister at Bishop Chatard High School. She and her husband have five children.

2012 Lenten Opportunities Flyer
In true St. Monica fashion, the staff has assembled numerous opportunities to awaken and renew your spiritual longings and to help you have the Lenten expierence you seek. Please take time to print off the scheduled events and post it in a place of prominence. Check out the additional time for confessions that have been scheduled so that everyone may have an opportunity to partake of this healing sacrament. Let us pray that we may have the strength this season to take advantage of these opportunities in order to truly follow Jesus’ command to “follow me”.
The month of March offers adult parishioners the excellent opportunity to make a Christ Renews His Parish/Chrish Renews His Spanish Parish retreat. Former participants are very enthusiastic about the spiritual awakenings in their own lives as a result of this retreat and the close friendships that were formed during them. If you are feeling a gentle nudge in your inner self toward giving yourself a two day spiritual and physical treat, please entertain the idea of participating in an upcoming weekend.
March 10 & 11 English speaking retreat for Women
March 17 & 18 Spanish speaking retreat for Women
March 24 & 25 Spanish speaking retreat for Men
March 31 & April 1 English speaking retreat for Men
Even if you do not choose to make a retreat, we ask for prayers to strengthen and prepare our formation team so that they may give all that God desires of them, that they may all be healthy and ready to serve with joy for the long weekend, and that they have His words on their hearts, minds and lips throughout planning and the weekend itself.
We also ask for prayers to bless all of the women that God is currently working on to sign up for the weekend, that they will turn to Him and take that step toward renewal. We ask that the weekend participants have an open heart and mind to Jesus and allow His words to find them through scripture, witnesses, song and fellowship with other parish women.
